Twickenham Action Team

Twickenham provided an opportunity for key partners and deliverers to come together to discuss the four options for a best-fit Sport Partnership structure. A number of key issues and questions arose from the day. It was agreed that many of these questions relating to the vision, role and function of sub regional sports partnerships will be answered by an Action Team. The Action Team has now met for the first time and the summary of the meeting together with a schedule for further meetings is now available.

2005/06 Partnership Sports Planning Process

2005/06 will be a transition year for the Partnership as the National Governing Body Whole Sport/One Stop planning process starts to take effect. Within London the aim is to work with the Governing Bodies to ensure that the most appropriate plans are developed based upon desired outcomes of both the new and the old development frameworks.

County Sports Partnership Strategic Framework Developed

The Core Partnership Team has developed a series of papers to support the development of a County Sports Partnership strucutre for London:

The Development Framework incorporates the the "givens" of the County Sports Partnership function as well as additional outcome development areas (Goals) spanning the wider physical activity agenda.
The Framework Model demonstrates a practicable diagrammatic approach to the execution of the Framework across sub regions.
Synergies to the Regional Plan outlines how the implementation of the Framework could contribute to 130 of the Actions identified within the London Region Plan for Sport & Physical Activity.

Revised Partnership Review Process

A new paper has been developed to explain Sport England's vision for the future of County Sports Partnerships The paper is not exhaustive in detail and there will be many questions that remain unanswered. Its purpose is to try and determine what is the most effective structure for delivering sport and physical activity in London, how its profile can be raised and how it can have a stronger voice both regionally and locally. In short what is the best mechanism to get more people to start, stay, and succeed in sport and physical activity.
